The Artist Emily James

Specializing in landscapes, seascapes, abstracts and botanical works, she paints in acrylics and oils in different styles.

Florida has been an inspiration to the painter as she was raised there and continues to work there from her own studio. She graduated from Florida State University as an art major, having displayed her artistic talents from a young age. She exhibits extensively around the world and produces one-woman retrospectives. Emily James has been given many awards for her art over the years and operates a successful business, selling prints and originals to many countries.

The landscapes include the Florida Everglades, Venetian canals, French vineyards and the rolling hills of Tuscany. She is fond of flaura and fauna and has captured the delicacy of orchids and water lilies in a pond. Different weather conditions are evoked in red sunsets, misty dawns and Mediterranean sunshine. Emily James often paints coastal scenes of boats tied up in a harbor, lighthouses and the ocean lapping onto the beach.

Other pictures include a range of golf courses. These have memories for the people who have played there or who have watched great tournaments on the greens. These paintings are treated with the same light touch as other landscapes. Figurative artists don't usually do abstract pictures too but Emily James also offers this option. Her abstracts are full of vivid color, inspired by the colorful scenery of the places she has seen and painted.
